Refund & Cancellation Policy

Last updated: 8 July 2026

This policy explains when tickets bought through AlphaTicket are refunded, who decides, and how the money gets back to you. The event organizer is your contract partner and is responsible for refunds; AlphaTicket provides the tools to process them.

1. The short version

  • Ticket purchases are generally final.
  • If the event is cancelled, you are entitled to a refund of the ticket price.
  • If the event is rescheduled or materially changed, your ticket stays valid for the new date — or you can ask the organizer for a refund.
  • Refunds go back to the card you paid with. A refunded ticket's QR code stops working immediately.

2. No 14-day withdrawal right for event tickets

Online purchases in the EU normally come with a 14-day right of withdrawal. However, under Article 16(l) of the EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU) and Section 1837(j) of the Czech Civil Code, this right does not apply to leisure services scheduled for a specific date or period — which includes tickets to concerts, festivals, parties, sports and similar events. Buying a ticket is therefore binding once payment is completed.

3. Cancelled events

If an organizer cancels an event, they must refund the ticket price to all buyers. Refunds for cancelled events are initiated through the platform and returned to the original payment method. If you believe an event was cancelled and you have not received a refund within a reasonable time, contact the organizer first, then us at hello@alphaticket.app.

4. Rescheduled or significantly changed events

If an event is moved to a new date or its essential characteristics change significantly (for example a different venue city), your ticket remains valid for the new date. If the new date does not work for you, request a refund from the organizer within a reasonable time after the change is announced.

5. Discretionary refunds

Outside the cases above, refunds are at the organizer's discretion — some organizers offer goodwill refunds, others do not. Ask the organizer directly using the contact details on the event page.

6. How refunds are processed

  • Refunds are processed through Stripe to the original payment method. We cannot redirect a refund to a different card or account.
  • Once issued, the money typically appears on your statement within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank.
  • The moment a refund is issued, the ticket's QR code is invalidated automatically and will be rejected at check-in. Partially refunded orders keep their remaining tickets valid.

7. Duplicate or incorrect charges

If you were charged twice, or charged without receiving a ticket, contact us at hello@alphaticket.app with the approximate time of purchase and the email you used. Verified duplicate or erroneous charges are refunded in full.

8. Chargebacks

Please contact the organizer or us before disputing a charge with your bank — a chargeback takes weeks, a direct refund usually takes days. When a charge is disputed, the associated tickets are suspended until the dispute is resolved; if the dispute is lost, the tickets are cancelled.

9. How to request a refund

  • Contact the event organizer using the contact details on the event page — they decide and initiate the refund.
  • If you cannot reach the organizer, email us at hello@alphaticket.app with your name, the event and the email address used at checkout.
